• SupportCP Who We Are
    SupportCP Who We Are Through SupportCP we intend to increase awareness among individuals, parents, friends and others who could use this site as a secondary resource for support, while also providing access to other important information.

Organizations in the UCP Affiliate network range from a budget size of $125,000 to $100 million and provide a wide range of services.

For those considering becoming a UCP affiliate, we can provide the interested organization with general information about UCP. We suggest visiting one or more of UCP’s current affiliate locations. It is also helpful to have an understanding of the State funding that might be available, along with other funding resources.

After reviewing the preliminary materials and visiting a UCP affiliate, UCP national staff will engage in a discussion to determine if the organization would meet the basic criteria for affiliation.

Interested organizations should establish a board of 10-15 people who can raise the funds necessary to sustain the operations of the affiliate, and has the business expertise to grow the organization. It is also helpful to identify any and all appropriate funding streams including fundraising activities.

UCP national staff is available to provide coaching throughout this process

To be a successful affiliate, the following conditions should exist:

The new organization has the support of the community; The new organization is prepared to undertake the ongoing responsibilities of fundraising and fiscal management; The initial group must be able to raise the start-up funds within a reasonable period of time. It usually takes 18-24 months to raise sufficient funds to open; The program is housed in a physical space of at least 1500 to 2000 square feet; The services provided are not in competition with other providers but rather enhance the services available for people with disabilities;

If there are individuals and families in your community who would benefit from a UCP affiliation, please contact Anita Porco or call 800-872-5827.
